Job Description
Northland Community and Technical College seeks a full-time Mathematics Instructor for both campus locations; Thief River Falls and East Grand Forks, dedicated to excellence in teaching, who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Northland are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. The college is committed to reflecting a diversity of perspectives and backgrounds amongst its administrators, faculty, and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree with a major in mathematics or a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in mathematics.
Preferred Qualification
  • Experience with higher education guidelines and policies.
  • Have a minimum of two years experience teaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Be knowledgeable about methods of instruction, testing and evaluation of students.
Other Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.

The incumbent must comply with department and College procedures and policies, Minnesota State policies and procedures, as well as local, state and federal laws, regulations, guidelines and business and industry standards.
The incumbent has the freedom to act within the guidelines as set by the position description, college policies and procedures, and discretion of the supervisor. All responsibilities have a high discretion level. In other words, the director is expected to plan, act, and evaluate. All employees must comply with department and institution procedures and policies, Minnesota State policies and procedures, as well as local, state and federal laws, regulations, guidelines and business and industry standards.
