Job Description
Northland Community and Technical College seeks a full-time unlimited Practical Nursing Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching, who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. This position will work on both the Thief River Falls and East Grand Forks Campus locations.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Northland are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. Salary Range:
$43,067 - $94,542
Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a ten-month academic year.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a graduate degree in support of the field of nursing and/or education with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing if the graduate degree is not in Nursing.
- A nursing program director must hold a graduate degree in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty.
Occupational Experience Requirement
- Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level.
- As a registered nurse at the professional level, experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected student and faculty outcomes; including experiential preparation in the areas the faculty will teach.
Recency Requirement
- One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Professional Requirement
- Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with current registration in Minnesota.
- Other Requirement: Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments.
Preferred Qualification
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing or Nursing Education
- Have completed one of the Minnesota approved Nursing Aide training curriculums.
- Experience with accreditation guidelines and policies
- Familiar with the Minnesota Board of Nursing standards
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience teaching.
- Coursework in teaching pedagogies and preparation in principled and methods of evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population.
- Be knowledgeable about methods of instruction, testing and evaluation of students.
