Northland Control Systems is looking for a Lead Technician, in the Montgomery, AL.
The mission of this position is performing installation, start-up, and closeout of all jobs, assisting the Program Manager in design and scoping, and other tasks as assigned by the Program Manager.

Qualifications
Extensive experience working in the field of electronic control systems
Certified in at least two Access Control Systems (C-Cure, Lenel, etc.)
Certified in at least one Video Monitoring System
Ability to program and troubleshoot advanced electronic control systems
Ability to read blueprints and schematics
Proper hand and power tool operations and safety
Ability to wire and troubleshoot relay logic
Duties
- Terminate and test all devices with proper wiring configuration to ensure quality performance of system.
- Work in compliance and always maintain Northland’s safety standards, to ensure safety of self and others in mind.
- All paperwork is turned in on time and filled out completely (example: vehicle log, timecards, field directives, service forms, etc.)
- Communicates constantly with the Project Manager on delays, requirements and general status of jobs
- Keeps daily logbook up to date with customer requests, worked performed each day, job numbers, dates and times and tasks assigned to Senior Systems Technicians and Apprentices
- All labor time is to be entered into Virtual Timecard daily, with an accurate job number and work description.
- Work with the Project Manager to oversee the installation of multiple crews to ensure jobs stay on-track and within the estimated quote. This includes labor forecasting and changes in site working hours
- Training of Technicians and Apprentices on Company policies, procedures, systems and installation techniques
- Confirm techniques are understood and adhered to
- All work is performed to Northland standards and quality installation techniques are practiced
- All jobs are run within each phase’s estimate (example: wire pull, mounting, etc.)
- Works with Project Manager to ensure complete closeout and turn-over of jobs to the client and service department
- Coordinates with other trades and subcontractors (i.e. General Contractor, Electrical Contractor, Door Hardware, etc.)
- Keeps accurate inventory of all parts for each project for tracking and billing
- Keeps track of all assigned company provided equipment and ensures that all assigned tools are in proper working condition
- Notifies PM of team deficiencies such as performance issues, tardiness and time off requests
- Typically works with the Project Manager to oversee the installation by multiple crews, crews of 4 or more people or multiple projects to ensure jobs stay on-track and within the estimated quote
- To work in compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety standards and requirements; with the safety of self and others in mind at all times
