Northland Fire Protection is a family owned business providing sales and service of fire protection equipment.
We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual to service in the fire protection industry. Fire industry experience not required, but welcomed. Servicing consists of: pre-engineered fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers and emergency exit lighting.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform inspections, service and sales on a variety of fire protection equipment including: wet chemical restaurant systems, dry chemical industrial systems, portable fire extinguishers, and emergency exit lighting.
Seek out additional sales and service opportunities within existing customer locations, and advise the customer of compliance needs.
Develop long term relationships with customers and maintain customer retention.
Job Requirements:
Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge.
Ability to lift 80lbs , safely use ladders, work overhead and work in tight spaces.
Work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Organizational skills are essential for success.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to learn quickly is a must.
We expect our service technicians to be self-driven, with the ability to schedule and complete the work load provided. Although the position would allow for some flexibility in scheduling customer visits, we expect a 40 hour minimum work week. The work days are typically 10 hours days between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm - start and end time depends on customer availability. The work week is typically Monday through Thursday with Fridays off unless overtime is required based on workload.
This territory would encompass the Fargo/Moorhead area, Grand Forks, Wahpeton area, Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Alexandria and could require up to three hours of travel time to reach some customers.
A valid driver's license with a good record is required.
Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug test, background check and pre-employment physical.
Compensation/Benefits:
Starting wage will be based on experience ranging from $22 to $24 per hour with the potential to increase wage rapidly based on technician’s skill set and personal drive. After passing the 90 day introductory training period, a commission plan will be implemented, along with additional incentive plan bonuses and company profit sharing.
