SUMMARY


Northline Seafoods is a growing seafood processing company looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Barge Office Manager who will play a critical role in the smooth operation of barge life by managing administrative functions, supporting crew and fleet needs, and coordinating logistics. This position will begin in Bellingham, WA, for pre-season training and then spend the season, mid-June to August, on a floating barge in Bristol Bay. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES


  • Update and maintain crew hours and timekeeping records for payroll processing
  • Assist with onboarding of new crew members, including paperwork, orientations, and room assignments
  • Assign and track crew accommodations and manage rooming logistics
  • Supervise housekeeping team and office staff to ensure cleanliness and administrative efficiency
  • Track purchase requests from submission to delivery, maintaining clear records of all transactions and inventory
  • Organize and distribute incoming and outgoing crew mail
  • Operate the crew store weekly and collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate deductions for purchased items
  • Conduct general and regulatory USCG safety orientations for incoming crew members and visitors
  • Support safety compliance efforts and promote a safe living and working environment on board
  • Manage employee files, paperwork and reports
  • Assist with booking flights to and/or from Bristol Bay
  • Provide first aid support as needed (First Aid certification preferred)


PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Prior experience in office administration or operations management preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
  • Comfortable supervising staff and working collaboratively across departments
  • Basic bookkeeping or payroll coordination experience a plus
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and First Aid certification strongly desired
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and/or similar software tools

This job largely operates in an office environment, though navigation of wet, slippery, and close quarters aboard a barge setting will be required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners and both physical and digital filing cabinets. Employee must be able to sit or stand at a computer for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively to barge management. Must be able to lift 30 pounds individually and up to 60 pounds with assistance.
