As a Kubernetes Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will design, build, and support scalable Kubernetes clusters across both public and private cloud environments. Working closely with developers, infrastructure engineers, and security teams, you will ensure that our Kubernetes environments are optimized for performance, security, and reliability. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role where you will leverage your expertise in container orchestration to drive innovation and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Kubernetes Architecture and Deployment: Design and maintain Kubernetes clusters on both public and private cloud platforms (e.g., AWS EKS, Azure AKS, or on-prem solutions).
- Container Management: Build, test, and deploy secure custom container images, optimizing for security and performance.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Implement observability best practices, monitor cluster health, and troubleshoot complex Kubernetes issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Automation and Deployment Tools: Work with Helm charts and other automation tools to streamline deployments and ensure consistent infrastructure builds.
- Collaboration and Innovation: Work with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of applications into Kubernetes environments.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure secure implementation of TLS/SSL certificates and mutual TLS, following best practices.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed technical documentation and provide regular reports on cluster performance and health.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Linux, containerization, and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
- Experience managing Kubernetes clusters on public and/or private cloud platforms (e.g., AWS EKS, Azure AKS, on-prem solutions).
- Proficiency with TLS/SSL certificates and mutual TLS.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes resources like Deployments, StatefulSets, ConfigMaps, and RBAC.
- Knowledge of observability practices and GitOps principles.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with Service Mesh tools (e.g., Linkerd, Istio) a plus.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform) a plus.
- Self-starter with a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Adaptable and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
- Detail-oriented, with a focus on process improvement and documentation.
