Overview
Our client is immediately hiring a HVAC Construction Project Manager with a minimum of 5-10 years of proven and successful PM experience for their HVAC division. They will work across multiple projects, providing mechanical expertise and organizing all aspects of project startup, implementation, and close out. They need to be familiar with all aspects of construction including electrical, plumbing and GC work and coordinate the trades. The position will require interaction with City Agency PMs, Safety Representatives and Design Team. The position reports to the Senior Project Executive and will work closely with Project Management staff as well as interact with personnel in the office and at field locations as well as clients and design teams.
Project Manager-Mechanical Responsibilities :
Spending >
50% of his / her time on the site of our public projects in the NYC area
Leading the planning, development, coordination, management, and close-out of all mechanical / aspects of projects with city and state agencies. This includes :
Developing and reviewing project schedules.
Negotiating subcontractor and vendor contracts.
Procuring, reviewing, and submitting trade shop drawings and equipment submittals for the project engineer's approval.
Releasing and tracking equipment orders.
Scheduling and overseeing the production of skilled HVAC technicians, sheet metal workers, steamfitters, and other unionized tradespeople.
Attending project site meetings and walk-throughs.
Field verifying the installation pace, details, and quality of direct or subcontracted trades (e.g. electrical, plumbing, general construction ).
Preparing, pricing, and submitting change orders and other proposals.
Preparing project close-out documents.
Tracking and reporting on project progress and profitability to the company's management team as well as project partners (e.g. owner, engineer) using computer systems.
Professionally representing the company with clients and the entire project team.
Ensuring the overall proper project administration and oversight with the support of Assistant Project Managers and other office support personnel.
Staying abreast of new technologies and trends in the industry.
Qualifications and Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; Master's degree preferred
5-10 years of industry experience in mechanical and / or construction contracting field, preferably working with NY city and / or state agencies
High proficiency in reading drawings and specifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Self motivated and detailed oriented
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Able to lead a team to deliver high quality, on time results
Valid driver's license
OSHA 30, Site Safety Trailing (SST Card), additional training as required as required by project.
Ability to work nights and evening depending on job requirements
PMP certification a plus
