What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Education Teacher position at NORTHRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL?
JOB GOALS: Instruct our Industry 4.0 & Smart Manufacturing pathway leading high school students in exploring cutting-edge industrial technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), smart sensors, automation, cybersecurity, additive manufacturing, CAD, CNC machining, fluid power, and digital integration. The instructor will provide hands-on training and project-based learning experiences to prepare students for SACA Industry 4.0 certifications (C-101 & C-102) and careers in advanced manufacturing, automation, and industrial analytics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop and implement engaging lessons on Industry 4.0 technologies, including robotics, AI, sensors, automation, electrical systems, cybersecurity, and industrial data analytics.
- Guide students in designing, prototyping, and mass-producing parts using 3D printing, CNC machining, and CAD/CAM tools.
- Train students in robot operation, automation programming, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) applications.
- Teach students how to interpret technical drawings, measurement tools, and industrial print reading.
- Establish relationships with local businesses and industries to develop mentorships, internships, and apprenticeship opportunities for students.
- Teach principles of lean manufacturing, digital integration, and smart factory operations.
- Provide exposure to modern industrial safety protocols, cybersecurity best practices, and network security in automation.
- Provide individualized support to help students master complex technical concepts and develop problem-solving skills.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Four-year college or university degree. Valid teaching license with required level certification.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of children, parents or employees of the school organization. Ability to effectively communicate through technology.
MATHEMATICAL SKILL:
Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts appropriate for grade level content
required.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in digital, written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATION:
Certification by the State of Indiana in teaching area(s). Must have current CPR certification.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Number of days per certified contract. Salary is determined by identifying experience and degree per the certified salary schedule.
