We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Risk Management to lead and oversee all insurance-related services for our high-net-worth clients. This role requires a strategic thinker with a client-centric approach, capable of developing scalable processes and systems to enhance the client and advisor experience. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison among advisors, insurance carriers, and clients, fostering strong relationships with third-party partners while ensuring alignment with clients’ overall financial strategies.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Insurance Oversight
- Manage and coordinate all lines of insurance for clients, including life, disability, property and casualty, long-term care, and health insurance.
- Technical Expertise
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of high-net-worth clients’ insurance needs and recommend tailored product solutions that align with their overall financial goals and risk management strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Tax, Estate, and Investment teams to ensure insurance strategies integrate seamlessly with clients’ overall financial plans.
- Foster communication across all Personal Office teams to provide holistic and tailored solutions.
- Client Liaison
- Serve as the primary point of contact between advisors, insurance carriers, and clients, ensuring seamless communication and service delivery.
- Process Development
- Design and implement efficient processes and systems that scale to provide a world-class experience for clients and advisors.
- Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party insurance partners to facilitate effective collaboration and service excellence.
- Compliance and Risk Assessment
- Ensure all insurance services comply with regulatory standards and conduct regular risk assessments to protect clients' interests.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of insurance professionals, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and client service excellence.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CFP®, CLU®, CPCU®) are preferred.
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in risk management or insurance services within the financial services industry, preferably with a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm and with a focus on serving high-net-worth clients.
- Expertise in various insurance products and services with an ability to identify solutions tailored to high-net-worth clients’ needs.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with Tax, Estate, and Investment teams.
- Proven ability to develop and implement scalable processes and systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a client service mindset.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficiency in using insurance management software and CRM systems.

Our Compensation & Benefits
- The estimated base pay salary rate for this role is $98,119 - $147,178 per year. Base salaries are determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, depending on the role, many roles are eligible for variable pay such as bonuses, commissions, and/or long-term incentives.
