Our competitive internship program attracts top students interested in gaining invaluable exposure to the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) space and general corporate law. Interns will gain real-world experience and relevant industry knowledge by becoming a key player on the Legal and Compliance team through hands-on project and task management. Interns also get the chance to participate in challenging projects, interact with a variety of industry professionals, and further explore their interests in the fields of finance and corporate law.
We are currently looking for an intern to join our Legal & Compliance team for the Summer 2025. Due to the nature of internship responsibilities, this position requires the ability to work on site at our Minneapolis office.
The Model Intern
The ideal intern seeks every opportunity to learn and is eager to grow professionally. We are looking for someone who believes there is no task below them and will work to seek understanding on more complicated projects; someone who is a self-starter, resourceful and can become self-sufficient, providing value quickly.
Essential Functions
- Summarizing and improving policies and procedures
- Assisting with vendor management and meetings with business unit owners
- Helping with data gathering, due diligence and document review
- Assisting with corporate documentation structure and organization
- Working with the Chief Legal Officer on M&A transactions
- Coordinating with internal and external partners on legal and compliance matters
- Sitting in on Risk Management Committee meetings and assisting with follow up
- Participating in training opportunities in areas of estate planning, tax, investments, etc.
Required Education & Experience
- The ideal candidate will be a 1L or 2L law student (or a part-time law student with the equivalent experience) or pursuing an undergraduate degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field as a junior or senior.
- Prior internship experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent technical writing and organization skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain organized while prioritizing and managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A strong desire to learn and a self-starting attitude.
Our Compensation & Benefits
The hourly rate for this role is $24.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for Employee Sick & Safe Time (ESST).
