Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a candidate who understands the advisor space — ideally with experience at a broker-dealer, registered investment advisor, or in a role supporting financial advisors. The ideal candidate is comfortable with financial modeling, due diligence, and synthesizing complex deal information into clear, actionable insights that can be related in ways advisors understand. This role is ideal for someone with a history in the wealth management industry and brings strong technical skills to a fast-paced environment with a thoughtful, analytical approach to M&A work.
About the Role
The Vice President, Corporate Development will be a key member of NorthRock’s Senior Leadership Team, responsible for supporting the sourcing, evaluation, execution, and integration of acquisitions and strategic growth initiatives. This role will work closely with leadership across the firm and contribute to the end-to-end M&A lifecycle.
What You Will Do
- As able, source, nurture and advance individual advisors and advisor practices through the NorthRock inorganic pipeline
- Distill Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs), prepare summaries, and support decision-making around which practices to pursue
- Own the creation of Contribution-Based Analyses (CBAs) in partnership with the Finance team to assess deal value and alignment
- Research, identify, and assess potential acquisition targets, monitor industry trends, and analyze the competitive landscape
- Lead and support cross-functional due diligence efforts, reviewing financials, contracts, and operational data to identify risks and opportunities
- Assist in deal structuring, coordination with legal and financial advisors, and preparation of term sheets and closing materials
- Support early relationship-building with acquisition targets and next-gen leaders, ensuring smooth transition and culture alignment
- Prepare deal summaries, pitch decks, and updates for internal leadership and external stakeholders
- Partner with internal teams post-close to support effective integration and value realization
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or wealth management
- Strong financial modeling and valuation experience (Excel, PowerPoint required)
- Understanding of M&A lifecycle—including deal sourcing, due diligence, and integration
- Ability to interpret and summarize CIMs and other key deal documents
- Experience working in or closely with the financial advisory or wealth management space
- Comfortable operating with urgency in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits
The estimated base pay salary rate for this role is $176,519 - $264,779 per year. Base salaries are determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, depending on the role, many roles are eligible for variable pay such as bonuses, commissions, and/or long-term incentives. Work Conditions
- Physical Requirements: This role requires occasional physical activity such as lifting, moving, and setting up computer equipment (monitors, docking stations, desktops, etc.). Ability to lift up to 25 pounds may be necessary.
- Repetitive Duties: The position involves extended periods of sitting and computer use, as well as repetitive tasks related to troubleshooting and data entry.
