We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our students.
Position Overview:
The Special Education Teacher will develop and implement individualized instruction, provide behavioral and academic support, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure student success. This role requires an educator who is patient, compassionate, and skilled in working with students who require additional therapeutic and behavioral interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
•Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans aligned with students’ IEP goals.
•Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that fosters academic and behavioral success.
•Utilize evidence-based strategies to support students with emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges.
•Work closely with therapists, counselors, paraprofessionals, and families to provide a comprehensive support system.
•Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
•Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and crisis prevention strategies.
•Maintain accurate documentation and actively participate in IEP meetings.
•Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and student empowerment.
Qualifications:
•Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
•Certification: Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license.
•Experience: Prior experience working with students in a therapeutic or special education setting preferred.
•Skills:
oStrong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
oExpertise in behavioral intervention strategies.
oAbility to de-escalate challenging behaviors and provide crisis intervention.
oExcellent communication and collaboration skills.
