- Position: Physician Assistant - General Surgery
- Location: Highland Park Hospital, Highland Park, IL
- Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
- Hours: (3) consecutive 12-hour shifts on nights between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. One Saturday per month and 1-2 holidays per year required.
- Required Travel: n/a
- License: Current Physician Assistant License in the State of Illinois required. DEA & Illinois Controlled Substance License required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Certification: CPR certification required
- Experience: One year of Physician Assistant experience preferred, but new graduates welcomed to apply.
- Skills: Surgical experience preferred
- Provide comprehensive health care services for a diverse patient population in close collaboration with a team of surgeons and APPs.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat general surgery patients.
- Provide surgical care for patients in various settings - emergency room, operating room, post-op, and non-op inpatient.
- First assist in emergent operations.
- Perform therapeutic procedures such as, but not limited to, bedside wound debridements, I&Ds, difficult catheter placements, catheter irrigation, NGT placements, etc.
- Work collaboratively with various health care providers throughout the system.
