What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pet Groomer position at Northside Animal Hospital?
Our Groomer position is commission based, 50% commission.
Qualifications:
- Grooming certification preferred
- Must have at least 1 year of professional experience grooming dogs/cats with grooming tools and equipment in good working condition (able and dryer already in clinic)
Essential Job Functions
- Grooming tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Passion for dog grooming and the well-being of pets.
- Knowledgeable in breed standard grooms.
- Skills in scissoring, general cleaning, nail trimming, styling, and all other pet grooming functions.
- Complete superior grooms (e.g., bathing, brushing, blow drying, de-matting, cutting or trimming hair/fur, gland expression, teeth brushing, nail clipping and grinding, and other specialty services).
- Provide a thorough hands-on pet check-in and check-out process for each pet and pet parent.
- Always treat all pets and pet parents with kindness, respect, and proper handling.
- Positively interact with pet parents in-person and via phone providing them with proactive communication and exceptional service.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Rebook with pet parents to ensure timely, holistic care to promote pet wellness.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must demonstrate sufficient dog handling skills (training provided).
- Must be patient and loving with dogs/cats.
- Must work well under fast-paced conditions.
- Must be detail oriented and observant.
Physical Demands
- Majority of day is spent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of animals, including but not limited to small and large dogs.
- Must be able to work around pet hair and dander.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.17 - $18.27 per hour
