Position Overview

Provide oversight, direction, and leadership for Northside’s Global Outreach Ministries.  Lead the Global Outreach strategy to Give • Love • Serve by mobilizing Northside disciples and participants to serve the global church, especially with multiplication efforts. The Global Outreach Minister serves on the Outreach Team and works under the leadership of the Outreach & Leadership Development Pastor.  The Global Outreach Minister is assisted by the Global Outreach Administrative Assistant, works alongside the Local Outreach Minister, and provides oversight and accountability for the Global Outreach Ambassadors, Apprentices, and Interns.

Key Responsibilities

• Global Outreach Strategy & Planning
  • Coordinate efforts to mobilize Northside individuals, families, groups, and ministries to experience and advance the Great Commission.
  • Develop the annual Global Outreach calendar of trips and events.
  • Oversee and coordinate US and international short-term mission trips.
  • Strategize how to move short-term Outreach participants toward their next steps of faith.
  • Provide an annual review of Northside’s US and global partnerships for alignment and effectiveness.
• Leadership Development & Training
  • Continually recruit and train ministry leaders, trip leaders, and project leaders–not just to fill needs, but for growth and expansion.
• Partnerships & Relationships
  • Create awareness and engage the congregation relationally with partners/missionaries.
  • Maintain regular correspondence with and oversee the care of Northside’s US and Global outreach partnerships/missionaries.
• Financial Stewardship & Resources
  • Effectively steward the annual Global Outreach budget and incoming resources.
  • Oversee the effective and accurate management of the Managed Missions platform.
• Promotional Efforts & Communication
  • Work with the Outreach Team to host the annual Missions Expo weekend.
  • Work with Comms to oversee the promotional efforts of the Global Outreach ministry.
  • Team Collaboration & General Duties
  • As a team player, be willing to assist any Outreach ministry effort with special projects/events.

Education and Experience

• 5-7 years of related experience or education is preferred.
• 3-5 years of leadership experience in a large church or mega church setting.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong personal faith and alignment with the core values and mission of Northside (C3 Faithfulness as outlined below).
• Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, inspire, and manage both staff and volunteers toward a shared mission.
• Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage staff and volunteers effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written with strong attention to detail and the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
• Participate in general pastoral duties as needed (weddings, funerals, counseling, Pastor on Call (POC), etc.)
• Proficient with Mac, Google Suite, Planning Center, Rock Database, Asana, Slack.
• Assist in all church wide events (Christmas, Easter, Volunteer Appreciation Night, etc.)
• Proven project management abilities, capable of managing multiple initiatives at once

• Weekend Gathering - regular attendance and participation in congregational worship (present for 75% of weekend gatherings throughout the year)

• Carrying out God’s ministry for me in this season (sharpening my skills through networking as well as both formal and informal skill development)
• Serving others with my gifting whenever the Spirit leads
