Position Overview

The IT Coordinator will provide essential support to the IT team as well as staff, helping ensure smooth day-to-day functionality. This role will involve a blend of administrative support, project management, and day-to-day technical assistance. This role requires someone with strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to flourish in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will thrive in this role with exceptional customer service and communication, solving technical issues promptly and efficiently, while also helping plan and implement technology projects to enhance the ministry. This person will work closely with the IT team, embodying professionalism and a heart for service that aligns with Northside’s mission and values. 


Job Duties

  • Technology Support
    • Provide technical assistance for church staff, ambassadors, volunteers, and the congregation (as needed). Work closely with the IT Team to troubleshoot and resolve basic technology issues.
  • Project Management
    • Work alongside the IT Team to plan and coordinate technology-related projects, ensuring timely completion and integration into the church’s operations. This may include system upgrades or software implementations. 
    • Approach tasks with a forward-thinking mindset, anticipating office needs, troubleshooting issues, and taking proactive steps to enhance support.
  • Administrative Support
    • Assist with general office IT tasks, such as managing printer inventory and check requests. 
    • Handle multiple priorities, managing workload effectively and independently, while remaining calm and professional under pressure.
  • Training & Support
    • Offer both 1:1 and group training and guidance to staff and volunteers on how to use church technology effectively. 
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service to both internal staff, ambassadors and congregants, offering tech support in a friendly, professional, and approachable manner.
  • Collaboration
    • Liaise with various departments, ensuring smooth coordination and effective communication, while reflecting the church’s mission and commitment to service.
    • Work with other ministry departments to integrate technology into services, events, and outreach programs.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of related experience or education preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of office management practices and procedures, with experience in handling confidential information.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong personal faith and alignment with the core values and mission of Northside (C3 Faithfulness as outlined below).
  • Proficient with Mac and Google Suite, with ability to build proficiency in Planning Center, Rock RMS, Asana, and Slack 
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to discern needs and respond appropriately, sensitively, and proactively.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, think on your feet, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Potential weekend hours might be needed, but are an exception.

  • Weekend Gathering - regular attendance and participation in congregational worship (present for 75% of weekend gatherings throughout the year)
  • Life-Changing Community - regular attendance and participation in a Life Group, micro group, or another intentional and regular gathering where prayer, Scripture, encouragement, and accountability is the norm.

3. CALLING
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” - 1 Peter 4:10

  • Carrying out God’s ministry for me in this season (sharpening my skills through networking as well as both formal and informal skill development)
  • Serving others with my gifting whenever the Spirit leads
