TITLE: Speech-Language Pathologist
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education / Building Principal
LENGTH OF CONTRACT OR WORK YEAR: 9 months (187 days)
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides screening to identify speech/language eligible children.
- Provides hearing screening at first and fourth grades as mandated by the State Department of Education.
- Provides speech, language and hearing assessments for children referred as possibly having speech/language and/or/hearing impairments.
- Provides speech/language and hearing assessments for students referred for comprehensive assessment.
- Provides screening and assessments for Child Find.
- Accurately and punctually completes all reports, records and assignments.
- Assists in referring children to agencies and specialists in the community when appropriate.
- Implements a therapy program for students eligible for speech/language therapy.
- Provides speech/language and related information and support to parents and families of students with speech/language disabilities.
- Conducts IEP reviews at least annually for each speech child on his/her roster.
- Provides in-service education and consults with teachers and staff on speech and language disabilities.
- Reports regularly and punctually to assigned work location(s) and all assigned duties.
- Notifies principal or designated person of impending absence.
- Regular in person attendance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification in: Speech/ Language Clinician (215) Speech Correction (216).
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
