Job Summary
Feed Production is responsible for helping achieve Northside Elevator’s commitment to producing safe, quality animal feed. This position will operate processing equipment according to established standard operating procedures and current good manufacturing practices. In addition to having the knowledge of the products carried, this position will perform housekeeping activities, assist fellow employees in loading bagged feed onto trucks and help customers load their ordered product. Feed Production is responsible for compliance with all company policies, local, state, and federal policies, laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Knowledge of feed related products within the mill
· Keep floors free from spills and debris by practicing good housekeeping
· Weigh out hand adds for feed mixes
· Gather medicated feed products for manufacturing feed mixes
· Maintain records of daily medicated feed product usage
· Manufacture feed in accordance with quality assurance policies, standard operating procedures, and current good manufacturing practices
· Ensure correct product goes into hand add bins
· Fill micro bins
· Coordinate product placement within the mill
· Assist with bagging feed
· Assist with organizing and counting inventory
· Monitor, maintain and report inventory levels
· Ability to use weigh buggies
Additional Duties
· Operate a forklift
· Deliver bagged and/or bulk feed when needed
· Assist with organizing daily routes
· Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualification
· High school degree or equivalent
· Ability to lift 60 pounds, climb ladders, and operate a pallet jack with 2,000 pounds of material
· Class B CDL preferred
· Must meet all DOT requirements and comply with DOT rules and regulations
