We are seeking a highly motivated, full-time (or part-time) receptionist to join our team. Our busy three-doctor veterinary hospital focuses on high-quality patient and client care. Northside Veterinary Hospital is a locally owned, AAHA-accredited, progressive, small animal hospital in Hillsdale, MI.

A successful candidate will be a reliable self-starter with excellent communication skills, friendly, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Requirements for this position:

  • Professional client communication is critical
  • Previous experience working as a receptionist or in a customer service role is highly preferred
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Managing multiple phone lines
  • Friendly attitude and confidence to deal with stressful situations
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to perform payment and financial transactions
  • Proficient in computer systems and software
  • Exceptional phone skills and communication skills with a positive attitude
  • Excellent spelling and grammar
  • Ability to manage varied and sometimes challenging conditions when exposed to highly emotional situations
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn quickly and provide accurate client education and information
  • Maintain a very high attention to detail and highly organized
  • Strong work ethic
  • Display a positive and professional attitude and demeanor among clients and fellow team members
  • Work as part of a team
  • Maintaining a caring and compassionate atmosphere for our clients and patients

Full-time is preferred, but part-time will be considered. (Please Note: some benefits are dependent on the weekly number of hours worked.)

The full-time position is 32-40 hours per week and occasionally requires rotating Saturdays. The pay starts at $16.00 but is negotiable depending on experience. Northside is open Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:45 a.m. to noon.
