NorthSight Recovery is an outpatient behavioral health agency seeking passionate applicants to join the team. We offer partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services for those struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. Our outpatient clinic is dedicated to providing high-quality care and support to individuals while addressing social determinants of health through our transitional living program.
The Medical Assistant will provide medical assistance to clients under the supervision of a physician, physician"s assistant, or nurse practitioner.
About the role
The responsibilities of this position include :
Medication audits at clinic and corresponding transitional living housing locations
- Scheduling provider appointments for clients; both internal and external
- Overseeing all medications (psychiatric and medical)
- Point of contact for Genoa Pharmacy and other pharmacy coordination as needed; receive medication delivery daily; off-site medication pick up as needed
- EMR input of medications (Sunwave / NextGen)
- Documents client interaction in the EMR and ensures it is complete in a timely manner
- Provides medication education for clients
- Communicates with the clinical department, care coordination department, and housing department and serves as a part of the integrated care team
- Communication with clients, including physical and history interviewing
- Coordinates telehealth appointments for clients, including minimal technology troubleshooting
- Sits in on telehealth visits as appropriate
- Completes all client medication consents
- Provides oversight to client"s labs
- Coordinates medical care with outside agencies
- On-site administration of injectable medications
- Ability to comfortably draw and handle blood in accordance with safety measures
- Administration of TB skin test (TST) and / or TB blood tests
- Measuring client vital signs, and recording weight, blood pressure, and temperature as needed
- Pull all relevant information to present to the provider prior to seeing the patient
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required infrequently
Qualifications
Requires CMA certification through an accredited certified medical assistant program
2 to 5 years of experience in the behavioral health industry with preferred EMR experience
Preferred experience with behavioral health medications / injection
High school diploma or equivalent
Clean driving record
Handles basic issues and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff; understanding of the chain of command
Oral and written communication skills
