Project Accountant
DESCRIPTION:
This position will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and job costs functions for specific projects within the accounting department. The Project Accountant reports to the Project Account Manager. This is a full-time, salary, exempt, in-person position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze and maintain project expenses
- Manage the budget and pending collections
- Subcontractor billing and processing
- Subcontract Document Control-lien releases, W-9’s, insurance certificates
- Invoice coding and data entry
- Draw requests to Owner for work that is completed
- Check issuance
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
None. This position will not have any direct reports.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role will use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and/or printers.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working for a general contractor or subcontractor in the construction industry is preferred
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to follow standard filing procedures
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Prior experience with AIA contract documents preferred
- Prior experience with Concur and Spectrum preferred
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
An Associate’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
