Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics, equipment repair, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, including tractor-trailers and construction machinery.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Perform tire service, including installation, rotation, and balancing.
- Operate power tools and other equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Repair air brake systems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in the repair of various types of equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with a focus on fleet vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and repair techniques.
- Experience with tire service, air brake systems, and construction machinery is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with operating forklifts and other machinery is a plus.
- Proficient in using power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Candidate to provide own basic hand and power tools; specialty tools will be provided.
