About this Role
The Safety coordinator manages the overall safety, health, and training of each project assigned. In addition, this position oversees on-site personnel from a safety perspective, including any safety representatives assigned to projects. This position is the primary point of contact for safety-related programs/incidents and client interfaces.
What You'll Do
- Leads project safety, training, and health initiatives for each project assigned.
- Oversees subcontractor and vendor on-site personnel from a safety perspective.
- Proactively helps and supports crew members to achieve a safe work environment.
- Collaborates with Construction operations to support weekly safety meetings.
- Conducts project observations.
- Communicates with client safety representatives.
- Conduct safety onboarding training for new crew members.
- Conducts accident and incident investigations.
- Reviews and understands all project-specific, customer, and safety requirements; ensures compliance at project sites.
- Review subcontractor safety plans
- Creates and updates safety plans.
- Ensures proper reporting from employees (JHA’s, tailboards, etc.)
- Manages project roster and ensures adequate training for all field personnel.
- Performs any other duties assigned.
- Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
What You'll Bring
- Knowledge of OSHA legislation/requirements, resources, and inspection process
- Lineman experience
- Working knowledge of Minimum Approach Distances (M.A.D.)
- Self-starter
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem evaluation/solving skills.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with other team members.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
