What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machine Operator position at NorthStar Group?
Job Summary:
CNC Machine Operator must be capable of setting up machine (i.e. setting machine zero, setting tool offsets if needed, reading program to determine required tools). Operator must be willing to debur parts after machining if needed.
Job Duties:
o Operate a CNC mill in the production and inspection of metal parts.
o Review blueprints, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output.
o Load machine with raw material to begin operations.
o Properly measure final product using quality assure devices.
o Check output for acceptable /- tolerance to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects. o Complete set-ups, off-sets, adjustments, tool changes (troubleshooting issues).
o Deburring, cleaning and packaging finished products. o Meet production goals/quotas.
o Cleaning the machine and surrounding area.
o Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
o Proficient in math, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills.
o Proficient and accurate use of precision tools (tape-measure, calipers, micrometers, verniers, etc.) to take accurate measurements.
o Ability to read and understand blueprints/technical drawings.
o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement.
o Highly organized, self-motivated.
o Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
o Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
o Must be able to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
Experience and Education Required:
o High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate
o 1-3 years’ experience as a CNC machine operator
Physical Demands:
o Regular and predictable attendance is required.
o Ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periods.
o Frequently be required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 60 pounds and larger amounts with assistance.
o Employee must be able to read, hear and speak English.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:
In our facility, employees may be exposed to excessive noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, smoke, and ambient temperatures.
