Afterschool Program Teacher (School - Age Teacher)

We are looking for a compassionate, energetic, and responsible individual to join our after-school program as a Caregiver. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a safe, supportive, and fun environment for children after school hours. You will help supervise children, assist with homework, organize activities, and ensure that all children are well cared for and engaged in meaningful activities until they are picked up by their parents or guardians. This can be a full time or part time posittion

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise children in the after-school program, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Assist with homework, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts that promote social, physical, and emotional development.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive environment that encourages respect and cooperation among children.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.
• Assist with snack time, ensuring that all children are served appropriately and hygienically.
• Enforce program rules and policies to ensure the safety and well-being of the children.
• Ensure that the environment is clean, organized, and conducive to learning and play.
• Support children's social-emotional needs, providing comfort and guidance when necessary.
• Work as part of a team with other caregivers and staff to ensure smooth operation of the program.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children, preferably in an after-school or childcare setting is preferred but not required
• Ability to build rapport with children and create a positive, supportive atmosphere.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• A passion for working with children and helping them grow in a nurturing environment.
