Job Overview:
As the Physical Education Teacher/Coach, you will create a fun, active, and safe environment for preschool-aged children, encouraging them to participate in various physical activities that promote motor skills, teamwork, and healthy living. You will design age-appropriate activities, lead daily physical education classes, and work closely with teachers to integrate movement into the overall curriculum. Your role is to ensure that children enjoy physical activity while developing essential skills that support their growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate physical education lessons and activities.
- Create engaging exercises and games that promote coordination, balance, teamwork, and gross motor skills.
- Foster a positive and energetic atmosphere where children feel encouraged to participate and develop healthy habits.
- Monitor the physical development and progress of students, offering encouragement and support.
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to integrate physical activity with classroom learning goals.
- Ensure a safe and structured environment, following health and safety protocols.
- Organize special sports or fitness events for the children, fostering enthusiasm for physical activity.
- Communicate with parents about the importance of physical development and ways to promote healthy habits at home.
- Manage/supervise the afterschool program and student holiday program.
- Support with maintaining enrollment in the school-age program
- Support with marketing the school-age program.
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching or coaching young children, preferably in a preschool or early childhood setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and the importance of physical activity in early childhood.
- Enthusiastic, patient, and able to motivate and engage young children.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
