We are seeking a motivated, organized, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Leasing Assistant.

Job Summary:

Are you a people-person with a passion for helping others and an interest in the real estate industry? As our Leasing Assistant, you will be a key player in our success, acting as the first point of contact for prospective residents and guiding them through the leasing process. You will support our Property Management team with various leasing, marketing, and administrative tasks. This role offers a stable base salary complemented by a significant opportunity to increase your earnings through performance-based commissions and bonuses tied to leasing success and portfolio occupancy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly and professionally to leasing inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms.
  • Schedule and conduct engaging and informative tours of available properties for prospective residents.
  • Assist prospective residents with the application process, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the screening process for potential tenants (background checks, credit reports, rental history verification).
  • Prepare lease agreements and associated addenda accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with coordinating resident move-ins and move-outs, including inspections and key handling.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date leasing files, resident records, and property information.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts, including updating online listings, creating marketing materials, and potentially assisting with social media posts.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with prospective and current residents.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Property Manager(s).
  • Collaborate effectively with the property management and maintenance teams.
  • Stay informed about current market conditions and competitor offerings in the Wichita area.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Proven customer service experience is essential; experience in sales, leasing, hospitality, or a related field is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new software (familiarity with property management software like AppFolio, Yardi, etc., is a bonus).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation are required for property tours.
  • Ability to work standard business hours, with potential flexibility needed for occasional weekend tours (e.g., Saturdays).

Work Environment:

This role will be primarily based out of our main property office in Wichita several days per week, providing direct support at that location, while also assisting with tasks related to our broader portfolio. Expect a fast-paced environment where communication and organization are key.
