Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Refrigeration Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with ammonia refrigeration and CO2 refrigeration systems and a strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that refrigeration systems remain operational through preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, modify and maintain industrial refrigeration systems and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components of refrigeration systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance using work orders, documenting completed tasks to ensure equipment reliability.
- Make necessary equipment adjustments safely during production operations.
- Execute startup and shutdown processes in production plants.
- Follow IIAR compliance guidelines
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures to safely isolate equipment before maintenance.
- Diagnose electrical issues using meters and testing equipment when systems malfunction.
- Schedule proactive part replacements to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in refrigeration service
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration, CO2 refrigeration, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Equipment Knowledge: Experience with central refrigeration plants, rack systems, split refrigeration systems, DX and Pumped systems, reciprocating and screw compressors.
- Safety & Compliance: Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures and production plant protocols. Familiarity with IIAR compliance and EPA laws.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure timely problem resolution.
- Work Environment: Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.
