ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Admissions Supervisor, the Admissions Coordinator screens, orientates and intakes clients into our co-occurring disorder treatment programs and other duties as assigned. This position is responsible for maintaining full capacity at all NorthStar Regional locations.
ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Admissions Coordinator, you will provide general education regarding our co-occurring disorder continuum of treatment services via phone and/or email. Ensuring the admission/transfer process of all clients to NorthStar Regional is seamless and exceeds client and staff expectations.
- Create a client focused experience for all clients seeking our services via phone and email communication. Provides a high level of customer service in all interactions.
- Responsible for managing the admissions process to completion.
- Creating new client charts with high level of accuracy
- Insurance verification for commercial and state funded policies
- In depth criminal background check and review
- Investigates and gathers all necessary documentation required for Admission to NorthStar Regional
- Thoroughly reviews and summarizes all necessary documentation including client assessments, hospital records, medication, and legal records
- Appropriately schedules the client in the appropriate level of care, completing all required administrative tasks
- Assesses and triages client admissions using identified admission criteria
- Collaborates and teams with site Directors to maintain program calendars, ensuring 100% program capacity
- Facilitates open communication with Program Directors, Medical Team, Billing, and Intake Coordinators
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with other organizations in the industry to manage referrals
- Proactively manages and engages all program waitlists, communicating openings to clients and referents
- Responsible for forecasting program demand, and takes initiative to respond to that demand
- Demonstrate professionalism in all encounters with staff and clients
- Following DHS & HIPAA guidelines regarding admission & confidentiality
Admissions Coordinator Qualifications Required
- Associate degree or higher in behavioral health related field, or equivalent work experience
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist preferred.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated team-oriented personality, ability to be flexible and assist others in achieving departmental goals.
- Must be age 18 or older.
- 1 year experience in customer service
- 1 year admissions, office management or behavioral health administrative related experience
- Must be able to pass Minnesota DHS background study, be free of harmful involvement with mind-altering chemicals, and attest to two (2) years of freedom from chemical use problems.
- Current TB/Mantoux screening
Preferred
- One year in chemical dependency treatment setting
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health related field
- Active CPRS Certification
