About Northstar Steel & Aluminum:
Northstar Steel & Aluminum, a family-owned and operated Steel Service Center since 1970, is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Outside Salesperson to join our growing team. We provide a comprehensive range of steel and aluminum products and services to a diverse customer base.
Position Summary:
The Outside Salesperson will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships within the assigned territory. This role requires a proactive and results-driven individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, building and maintaining strong relationships.
Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand customer requirements and identify potential sales opportunities.
Sales & Marketing:
Actively sell company products and services, including steel, aluminum, and related value-added services.
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to grow market share within existing and new accounts.
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities.
Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams, including Inside Sales, Production, and Credit, to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer support.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry contacts and suppliers.
Reporting: Maintain accurate sales records and prepare regular sales reports.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Proven sales experience in a relevant industry (e.g., metals, manufacturing, distribution) is preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are essential.
Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently.
Highly motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver's license.
