About Northstar Steel & Aluminum:
Northstar Steel & Aluminum, a family-owned and operated Steel Service Center since 1970, is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Outside Salesperson to join our growing team. We provide a comprehensive range of steel and aluminum products and services to a diverse customer base.
Position Summary:
The Outside Salesperson will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships within the assigned territory. This role requires a proactive and results-driven individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand customer requirements and identify potential sales opportunities.
- Sales & Marketing:
- Actively sell company products and services, including steel, aluminum, and related value-added services.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to grow market share within existing and new accounts.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including Inside Sales, Production, and Credit, to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry contacts and suppliers.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate sales records and prepare regular sales reports.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven sales experience in a relevant industry (e.g., metals, manufacturing, distribution) is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are essential.
- Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license.
