What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Surgical Assistant- Central Sterilization position at Northstar VETS?
We are looking for a experienced, motivated Veterinary Assistant to work alongside our Surgical team. Responsibilities including but not limited to: Decontamination, processing and sterilization of various surgical instruments and equipment; Assisting in the set-up and breakdown of the surgical suites; Ability to plan ahead to ensure all equipment needed for procedures is sterile and available; assist in the routine maintenance and care of sterilization equipment; help maintain up to date Master list of Surgical Inventory; Knowledge of infection control and safety regulations, including OSHA and CDC guidelines
Environment: Sterilization area of a multi-specialty veterinary practice supporting 5 surgical suites. Must be comfortable working in an environment with various animal species. Ability to work independently and collaborate with clinical teams in a fast paced environment
