Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position for an Associate Veterinarian at Northtown Animal Hospital located in Amherst, NY. Applicants seeking part-time work will also be considered.
Duties and Requirements:
- Include but not limited to typical duties of a licensed veterinarian:
Perform patient examinations, develop diagnostic and treatment plans based on history and exam findings, interpret laboratory results and radiographs, prescribe medication, maintain medical records, and communicate with/educate clients.
- Supervise care of hospitalized patients, perform surgical and medical procedures appropriate to skill and experience, perform oral surgery and dental extractions.
- Supervise and train technical support staff. Participate in doctor rounds and staff meetings. Collaborate with and mentor professional staff.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
- Licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the state of New York
- Strong diagnostic and surgical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience with small mammals is a plus
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
- Experience is preferred but new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
- Long range buy in/out interest is a positive.
