What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Paraprofessional position at Northview Public Schools?
General Summary: The Office Paraprofessional at Northview Public Schools is one of the first people seen at the building when students or parents come in. The office paraprofessional will help keep track of attendance, help students and parents with their needs, maintain the school webpage, and assist the building administrative assistant and principal in tasks that make the building run smoothly.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma minimum, Associate Degree or higher preferred
Training and Experience:
- Experience with computerized management systems (Preferably Synergy)
- Proficient with Google Suite and Microsoft
Demonstrated Technical Skills:
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail when performing daily duties
- Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple tasks and work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced busy office environment
- Excellent telephone skills
- Ability to think on your feet to problem solve
- Highly motivated self-starter who is able to work independently

Essential Job Functions:
Essential job functions of the office paraprofessional include, but are not limited to:
- Answering the phones,
- Filing,
- Tracking student attendance,
- Updating student records,
- Assisting students and parents with various needs, and
- Maintaining and updating building webpage including calendar.
Other Job Responsibilities:
Other job duties of the office paraprofessional would include:
- Helping out in the lunch room when there is a shortage of help,
- General upkeep of the office setting so that it remains presentable and
- Cleaning and assisting other building staff with general office tasks when needed.
Directly Responsible To:
- The Office Paraprofessional works directly under the supervision of the Building Administrative Assistant and is evaluated by the building administrator.
Terms of Employment:
- The office paraprofessional refers to the Paraprofessional Agreement July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2025.
- Hourly rate for 182 days per year following the Northview Public Schools academic calendar.
Evaluation:
- Evaluations are done at the end of the probationary period and yearly thereafter.
