SUMMARY : Provide level 2 support and assistance to Instructional Maintenance Technicians. Collaborate with

the Network Engineer on network projects, design, and troubleshooting.

  • Keeps current with technology as it applies to operations through trade journals, education and training;

Periodically supervises and coordinates the activities of Department staff as delegated by the Technology Director,

which may include conducting meetings, setting priorities, assigning and overseeing projects and tasks; Contributes

to collaborative initiatives that support District goals, student services, and professional growth.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience working within an educational environment preferred

2. Demonstrated experience / ability to apply effective problem solving and innovative ideas to seek solutions

to a variety of challenges or areas in need of improvement

3. Ability to effectively read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical

procedures, or governmental regulations

4. Ability to effectively write and read reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals

5. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals or groups

6. Ability to effectively speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communications

7. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

8. Ability to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several

abstract and concrete variables

9. Understand TCP / IP LAN WAN networking

10. Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Windows OS, Chrome OS and Apple iOS

11. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the Internet for communication, resource sharing and extensive

knowledge of existing Internet websites

12. Ability to manage and document multiple projects

13. Demonstrated ability to learn new and emerging technologies

14. Demonstrated work history that includes strong teamwork, interpersonal communication, and problem

solving skills with exceptional attention to detail

15. Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills

16. Valid Michigan driver’s license required

Physical Demands :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer, view video display

terminals, reach with hands and arms, sit, use hands and fingers to grip, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, talk

and hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, such as printers, CPUs, monitors, etc. Specific vision abilities required by

this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to meet deadlines

with severe time constraints and interact with staff and the public in addition to meeting multiple demands from

several people at any given time. Ability to travel to and from work sites within the school district. Ability to

occasional irregular work hours, including overtime (hours, days, weeks).

TYPICAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :

  • Maintain online learning platforms, and assist with classroom technology
  • Assist with firewall, content filtering, and security services
  • Assist with cloud platforms and mobile device management
  • Develop efficiencies in common sign-on capabilities
  • Assist with the district wired and wireless network
  • Assist with the district backup and data recovery processes
  • Support adherence to Board policy and District operating procedures on the use of technology
  • Keep current in all technological updates related to web development
  • Create and maintain documentation and training materials
  • Perform desktop and laptop repair
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide service, support, and technical training
  • Manage various projects, as established by the Director
  • Assist with resolving equipment work orders, and equipment repairs, as needed
  • Attend Board of Education meetings for AV support
  • Reflect the core values of Northville Public Schools
  • Ability to accept and apply feedback
  • Ability to think critically and work in teams as well as independently
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable in-person attendance
  • Other duties as assigned by the Technology Director
