What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac/Trauma Blood Bank Technologist, Bay Shore, NY position at Northwell Careers?
Performs a variety of diversified and complex blood bank laboratory tests. Processes various blood samples in accordance with regulatory requirements, policies and procedures. Issues blood components following established guidelines for cardiovascular surgeries and massive transfusion protocols. Supports physician efforts to improve hemostasis for cardiac and trauma patients with coagulopathies, surgical and traumatized bleeding by providing blood components in an efficient and expedited manner for positive outcome. Occasionally precept/orient one lab tech as needed on a day shift. Performs related duties as required.
Night Shift M-F (12:00 a.m. – 8:00 am). Must also work every other full weekend and alternating holidays (12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.).
Reqs: Bachelors in Medical Tech or closely related field 1 year exp. Clinical Lab Tech at Hospital Blood Bank ASCP/ASCP(i) certification and NYS Clinical Lab Technologist license.
Salary: $49.70 per hour (no range)
