What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant-Hybrid (TEMP)-FlexStaff position at Northwell FlexStaff?
FlexStaff is hiring a Senior Accountant for one of our clients, a multinational manufacturer in Melville.
Position will be in person in Melville on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Department Manager in the preparation, review and financial reporting of monthly, quarterly and supplementary information, issued to the corporate office and Senior Management.
- Prepare journal entries and accruals during the month-end close process to include a reconciliation of the inter-company activity.
- Analyze G/L transactions for accuracy in order to ensure all phases of the general ledger and financial statements are accurately presented.
- Assist with the preparation of the detailed monthly variance analysis as compared to actual.
- Assist with the preparation of the inventory reserve calculation as well as inventory management reporting.
- Assist and prepare schedules on request for periodic internal audits.
- Assist with other Ad hoc reporting as required.
Requirements:
- A Bachelors degree with a concentration in Accounting
- A minimum of 5 years related accounting work experience to include prior analytical work in an Accounting environment.
- Experience in a manufacturing/cost accounting environment a strong plus.
- Must have intermediate/advance excel skill set.
- Experience with Hyperion Financial Management and Oracle E-Business a strong plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated individual and the ability to work independently.
