New Grad Program Overview
To provide intensive training for advanced care practitioners with minimal experience in urgent care, enabling them to work independently in the center. The program includes didactic material review, case study analysis, hands-on skills training, and in-center training alongside experienced providers.
Program Details
- The New Grad Program runs annually for 4-6 providers, training over 4 months, from June to October/November.
- Weekly lecture days and self-learning are mandatory.
- Candidates must attend important new grad program-related meetings, including didactics, skills labs, and monthly town halls.
- Clinical shifts with senior preceptors for hands-on learning and procedural training.
- The program is divided into phases, with evaluations at the end of each phase.
- Candidates will be monitored by program directors, preceptors, faculty, and core faculty throughout the program.
- Candidates may be required to float between centers during clinical rotations, which may involve travel to different regions.
- Candidates must complete assigned self-study materials and maintain a procedure log.
- Candidates will also be reviewed based on quality metrics and policies, including Net Promoter Score (NPS), attendance, and antibiotic stewardship.

- Upon completion of the program, candidates may be offered continued full-time employment based on regional and market needs.
Requirements for Application
- Advanced practitioners with no prior experience may apply.
- Candidates must have active Connecticut and New York licenses, as well as BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.
- A personal statement discussing interest in the field of urgent care and motivation for joining the fellowship program is required.
- Two letters of recommendation from employment supervisors, program advisors, professors, or preceptors are required.
- Candidates will undergo a screening call with the TA team before being scheduled for an interview with the program director.
