NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) is seeking a talented and experienced Marketing Copywriter to join our team. This role requires a highly skilled writer with a passion for crafting compelling content across multiple channels, including digital, print, social media, and advertising. The Copywriter will play a crucial role in ensuring NWACC's messaging is consistent, engaging, and aligned with the College's mission, values, and strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong editorial skills, capable of creating persuasive and informative copy that speaks to various audiences, including prospective students, faculty, alumni, and the local community. This role also requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working closely with the marketing and public relations department, and programs across campus to ensure projects are completed on time and align with the College's overarching branding and communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation Across Multiple Platforms
Write clear, engaging, and persuasive copy for a broad range of materials, including website content, social media posts, email campaigns, advertising campaigns, newsletters, brochures, event promotions, NWACC websites, and other College communications. Ensure each piece of content is tailored to its specific audience while maintaining the College's voice.
Campaign Development & Execution
Collaborate with the Associate Director of Creative Services and Associate Director of Digital Marketing to develop and execute marketing campaigns. Write content that supports recruitment, retention, brand awareness, and community engagement efforts. This includes crafting compelling narratives for digital ads, print materials, and event promotions to help drive strategic initiatives.
Brand Messaging & Voice Consistency
Ensure all written content aligns with NWACC's brand guidelines and messaging strategy. Maintain a consistent tone, style, and voice across all communications, ensuring that the College's brand is clearly and effectively represented in every piece of content.
Social Media Content Development & Management
Write select content for the College's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. This includes writing content for high-profile initiatives and all paid campaigns.
Copywriting for Institutional Branding
Contribute to the development of the College's institutional brand, ensuring all messaging aligns with the College's core values and objectives. This includes writing strategic messaging for high-profile initiatives, such as fundraising campaigns, community outreach, and institutional reports.
Proofreading, Editing & Quality Control
Proofread and edit all written materials to ensure accuracy, grammar, and consistency. Provide quality control on all College communications, ensuring they meet NWACC's editorial standards and are free of errors. This includes reviewing content created by other team members for consistency and adherence to branding guidelines.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
Work closely with other departments, including Admissions, Athletics, and Student Services, to gather information and insights for content creation. Collaborate with designers, photographers, and other team members to ensure that written content aligns with visual elements, creating cohesive marketing materials.
Strategic Content Development
Contribute to the strategic planning of content across various marketing channels. This includes providing input on content calendars, developing ideas for blog posts, newsletters, and special campaigns, and creating content that resonates with both prospective students and the broader community.
Event & Campaign Copywriting
Write promotional materials for College events such as open houses, cultural activities, sporting events, and community outreach programs. Ensure event communications are clear, engaging, and aligned with the overall College marketing strategy to drive participation and attendance.
Project Management & Deadlines
Manage the creation and delivery of content for multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met and all materials are aligned with the project objectives. Collaborate with the Marketing Strategist to prioritize tasks and ensure a smooth workflow across campaigns.
Content Performance & Analytics
Monitor the performance of written content across digital platforms, using analytics tools to track engagement and effectiveness. Suggest content revisions based on insights from performance data to continuously improve the impact of marketing campaigns.
Graphic Design Assistance
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Creative Services, assist with beginner to intermediate level graphic design tasks, ensuring that visuals and messaging work seamlessly together.
Rate of Pay $46,150 annualized
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the organization and administration of various higher education academic and social programs.
- Knowledge of campus and community resources.
- Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and social programs.
- Ability to coordinate the activities of campus academic and / or social programs.
- Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations.
- Ability to compile information into report form.
