Duties

- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and guidelines related to medical billing and coding practices.
- Maintain accurate medical records by updating patient information and coding data as necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in documentation or coding.
- Conduct medical collections as needed, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding accounts.
- Stay updated on changes in coding standards, regulations, and insurance policies to ensure accurate billing practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems.
- Proficiency in medical billing processes, including knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding.
- Familiarity with ICD-9 coding standards is preferred; additional certifications in medical coding are required.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance representatives.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous.
