The Credit Bankruptcy Officer is responsible to coordinate, monitor and analyze loans when a borrower files a bankruptcy petition.
Essential Functions
- Ensure integrity of loan documentation
- Review loan documents for perfection of collateral
- Analyze financial statements
- Prepare and analyze bankruptcy reports
- Identify and resolve problems / issues
- Record all agreements and conversations
- Prepare correspondence and documentation
- Discuss grades and procedures
- Submit proof of claims
- Attend 341 hears or like Bankruptcy hear/or direct outside counsel
- Monitor collection activity, and bankruptcies
- Report agreed payment terms and plans
- Locate collateral / inspection
- Partner with loan officers
- Prepare for litigation
- Coordinate sale of acquired assets / with appropriate staff, liquidation of assets and sales, and legal plan action with counsel
- Order appraisals
- Initiate Charge-offs / write downs
- Prepare reviews, and monthly bankruptcy updates
- Recommend improvements to procedures
- Build relationships with internal customers
- Maximize technology tools available
- Minimize departmental non-payroll costs
- Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
- Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
- Work as part of a team
- Work with on-site equipment
- Bachelor’s degree in business/ accounting or finance degree or related subject matter preferred
- 5-6 years of experience in of experience in Bankruptcy law related to Chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13, relating to retail/consumer and commercial loans preferred
- Ability to analyze data, prepare bankruptcy related documents
