Job Description

Northwest Bank's Internal Communications and Events Specialist is responsible for fostering effective communication across the organization by coordinating events such as meetings, town halls, listening sessions and regional gatherings. This role requires both in-person and virtual event coordination skills to ensure seamless execution of communications and engagement activities that enhance employee participation, transparency and alignment with the company's goals.

Essential Functions

  • Meetings & Events Coordination: Under the leadership of the Director, Internal Communications, plan and execute internal meetings, events and conferences including regional picnics, team gatherings, and company town halls, both on-site and digital.
  • Town Halls & Listening Sessions: Organize and coordinate logistics for both virtual and in-person town halls, listening sessions, and other employee engagement activities. This includes managing technology, coordinating speakers and ensuring that events run smoothly and on time.
  • Event Planning: Manage all aspects of event planning including venue selection, catering, A/V needs, scheduling and invitations for in-person and virtual events across the Northwest Bank footprint.
  • Employee Engagement: Facilitate and manage ongoing employee engagement opportunities, feedback loops through listening sessions and employee input forums, helping to ensure that all voices are heard and communicated back to leadership.
  • Communications Strategy Support: Collaborate with the Communications team to develop internal content strategies that support organizational goals and employee engagement initiatives, while maintaining consistency in tone, voice, and messaging.
  • Technology Management: Manage platforms for virtual events (e.g., Teams), ensuring that all digital town halls, webinars and other events are conducted efficiently and without technical disruptions.
  • Regional Event Management: Oversee the logistics for region-wide gatherings, such as company picnics and employee engagement events, ensuring they promote team cohesion and reflect the organization’s values.
  • Post-Event Follow-Up: Gather and report on feedback, participation metrics and areas of improvement to enhance future event planning and communication efforts.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with HR, leadership and other departments to align communications and events with organizational objectives.
  • Logo Shop: Assist with Northwest logo shop, Shop Northwest, and employee apparel program

Additional Essential Functions

  • Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
  • Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
  • Work as part of a team
  • Work with on-site equipment

Safety and Health for those without supervisory duties

  • Abide by the rules of the safety and loss prevention program
  • Perform work tasks in a safe manner
  • Report any and all injuries to supervisor
  • Know what to do in case of an emergency

Education

Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience

3 - 5 years Experience developing internal communications campaigns and tactics

3 - 5 years Experience managing and executing projects on time and on budget

3 - 5 years Experience planning and executing in person and virtual events
