Description
Northwest Classical Academy seeks a full-time Director of Student Services. The Director of Student Services manages the various support arms of the school to create conditions in which all students can thrive. This position reports to the Head of School on Northwest Classical Academy’s Kennesaw campus.
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Adhere to the school’s mission and the principles of classical education
- Oversee the following departments and services: Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, 504 plans, and English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
- Ensure compliance with all laws, codes, and regulations related to Special Education, Section 504, and ESOL
- Manage eligibility determinations, attend IEP meetings as the LEA representative, and review IEPs before finalization
- Work with the registrar to build schedules for Special Education and ESOL staff and students
- Conduct teacher observations, and provide coaching and training to faculty and staff in the supervised departments
- Engage in professional development, and attend state and local training sessions
Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field from a fully accredited college is required
- Valid certification in Special Education is required
- Five or more years of relevant work experience required
- Previous experience in classical education is preferred, but not required.
- Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
