The Cafe Aide provides services in the kitchen and cafeteria for Leland Public School and reports to the Food Service Director.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience with food service helpful, but not necessary
- Experience with working with children helpful, but not necessary
- Demonstrate ability to get along well with children and adults
- Punctual and dependable
- Possess good habits, character, and attendance records
- Have a flexible schedule (shifts are 4 hours. Mornings to early afternoon, i.e. 10 am to 2 pm)
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Discrete and able to maintain confidentiality in all matters related to the school
Required Duties:
- Assist in maintaining health and sanitation standards in: storage and handling of food, cleaning and care of dishes, utensils and equipment, cleaning of food preparation and service areas and dish sanitizing areas
- Assist in simple food preparation
- Must be physically capable of lifting 15 pounds
- Responsible for basic orderliness of students and cafeteria during meal times
- Responsible for providing supervision of student conduct
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of tables before and after meals
- Maintain an atmosphere of quiet, friendly, and purposeful conversation and eating
- Ensure that students learn and practice the responsibility to clean up their eating area when finished, and exhibit good manners while eating
- Complete any additional cafeteria duties as assigned by the food service director
Expectations:
- The Cafe Aide is expected to comply with District policies
- The Cafe Aide is expected to follow the same code of conduct that applies to teachers and other staff members. An appropriate use of language and dress is expected at all times. Alcoholic beverages or use of mood altering substances are prohibited
- Confidentiality regarding student pay status
- The Cafe Aide is expected to perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by the Food Service Director
Salary: $15.45-$18.67/hour
