Residential (O2) Solar Apprentice
Immediate opening for an Apprentice Electrician to join our growing team. This is an opportunity to join a great team here at Northwest Electric and Solar and learn the trade.
Solar and/or basic construction experience is required—you will be working alongside a field supervisor to learn the specifics of solar and energy storage. Duties & Skills:
- Ability to safely work on a roof and on ladders
- Installing solar modules, module level power electronics, mounting components, inverters, and other BOS components.
- Work as directed by field supervisor
- Maintain a clean jobsite
- Working safely with electrical equipment of different voltages and configurations
- Working with medium voltage, low voltage, and DC equipment
- Ensuring installations comply with the NEC and NABCEP best practices.
- Working with equipment for bending, cutting, pulling, and installation of conduit and wire.
- Working in hot/cold environments and confined spaces (attic, crawl space, mechanical rooms, etc.)
- Learning to work with multiple power/interfaces from alternate power sources, i.e. solar, generators, battery systems
- Troubleshooting various systems and components
- Professional, customer-facing, positive attitude
- Analytical thinker with the ability to problem-solve independently
Requirements:
- Must have your own transportation, a valid Driver's License, and a clean driving record
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Agility and ability to get up on a roof; no fear of heights
- Ability to safely lift and carry 50lbs
- Ability to communicate professionally with clients
- Ability to work inside attics and crawl spaces
- Must have basic electrical hand tools
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour
