Job Summary
We seek an experienced and driven Family law attorney to join our dedicated legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and domestic disputes. This role requires strong negotiation and client advocacy skills.
Responsibilities
- Independently represent clients in family law cases, including divorce and complex child custody disputes, with possible intricate financial, domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental health issues.
- Assess and create legal strategies based on client needs and adjust accordingly as the situation evolves.
- Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, hearings, and trials.
- Collaborate with colleagues, other attorneys, and delegate tasks appropriately to paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff.
- Maintain a minimum number of billable hours per quarter and year to ensure efficient case management.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients while maintaining professional and empathetic communications and client support.
- Stay updated on family law statutes and case law to provide high-quality legal representation.
- Continuously develop your expertise by actively engaging in the family law community, professional development organizations, and contributing through leadership in this field.

Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Comfortable with conflict and addressing it in a professional and expeditious manner.
- Progressive experience working in family law under an attorney in a law firm setting.
- Comfortable with billable hour requirements and delegating tasks to legal support.
- Comfortable with practice management systems, billing, etc.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and client service skills.
- Persuasive writing and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of the nuances related to family law, including basic knowledge of court procedures in King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties.

Work Schedule

Education and Experience
We require:
- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- 4 years of legal experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in family law.
