Alcohol and Drug Specialist
Northwest Family Services A&D Specialist works collaboratively with the Clackamas County Department of Human Services (DHS) team, serving parents with open Child Welfare cases where their substance use has been identified as a barrier to re-unification. A&D Specialist performs ASAM and resource referral for the client while acting as a subject matter expert in support of the DHS Child Welfare Team.
What you’ll do:
· Incorporate a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach in professional interaction with clients and colleagues.
· Provide mobile ASAM assessment and/or screening services, including but not limited to in-home, at the DHS office or partnering institutions.
· Provide appropriate treatment recommendations and referrals to the client.
· Provide crisis stabilization and bridge services in collaboration with the DHS team.
· Prepare clients for transition into residential and recovery services.
· Participate in clinical and program supervision as assigned.*
· Report subpoenas to program manager and respond as requested.
· Regular attendance is required, including in-person meetings with RST partners and DHS.
Who you are:
· Minimum of CADC-I certification through the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO).
· Experience in substance use disorder treatment with demonstrable knowledge of ASAM assessment standards.
· Working knowledge of local community and SUD treatment agencies.
