Job Description
Adjunct (part-time) instructors are hired on an as-needed, term-by-term (or per course) basis. By applying for this position, you will be joining the part-time instructional pool for consideration as a prospective adjunct instructor.
The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carryout its mission.
The Adjunct Instructor is directly accountable to the EMS Program Director and the EMS Lead Instructor for the following duties and responsibilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Provide classroom and lab instruction.
- Utilize the approved textbook and / or other instructional materials as approved by EMS Lead Instructor and EMS Program Manager.
- Be fully prepared and on time.
- Maintain professional attire or duty uniform while instructing.
- Be familiar with all Public Safety Training Center policies and college policies.
- Maintain attendance per Public Safety Training Center and college policies.
- Support students by engaging them in class, answering questions in a timely manner, and referring them for additional support when necessary.
- Utilize available teaching technologies and equipment.
- Maintain good condition of training equipment.
- Assist in development of curriculum as appropriate.
- Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the EMS Program Manager and EMS Lead Instructor.
