What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enrollment Advisor - Northwest Florida State College position at Northwest Florida State College?
The Enrollment Advisor is directly accountable to the Associate Director, Financial Aid, for the following duties and responsibilities.
The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carry out its mission.
- Guides students and parents regarding admissions, records, and financial aid. Answers inquiries related to financial aid, scholarships, and work-study, including benefits, eligibility criteria, the application process, policies and procedures, deadlines, and requirements.
- Provides front-line customer service to current and prospective students, parents, and families by phone, in person, chat, and email to deliver exceptional service and documents pertinent information in CRM.
- Applies customer service skills, knowledge, advocacy, and professional judgment to address simple and complex situations; ensures student needs are served promptly and with a positive experience. Makes necessary referrals to other student services offices.
- Assures compliance with Title IV Federal regulations in addition to state regulations in regard to academic records and financial aid.
- Conducts financial aid verification, as needed, of student and parent application data in compliance with federal criteria. Verifies the accuracy of information provided on applications for federal and/or state aid programs.
- Guides students through the submission process, financial aid professional judgment exceptions, appeals, and petitions following state and federal statutes.
- Correspond with students in writing, in person, or by phone regarding outstanding documents necessary to complete the application process.
- Participates in college night and community events to present financial aid information, both on- and off-campus meetings, information sessions, and events;
- Maintains current knowledge of federal and state aid regulations as they relate to assigned duties as well as institutional goals and objectives regarding Enrollment Services.
- Serve on College Work Groups and Strategic Task Forces as assigned;
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with four (4) to six (6) years of relevant work experience (higher education experience preferred).
- Knowledge of Federal and State Student Financial Aid regulations, programs, practices, and procedures preferred.
- Ability to successfully engage with the public, students, faculty, and staff positively and professionally within a fast-paced and high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and interact professionally both in person and by phone
- Flexibility and adaptability when faced with changing priorities
- Strong active listening skills
