What are the responsibilities and job description for the UVSO Program, Adjunct - Northwest Florida State College position at Northwest Florida State College?
Adjunct (part-time) instructors are hired on an as-needed, term-by-term (or per course) basis. By applying for this position, you will be joining the part-time instructional pool for consideration as a prospective adjunct instructor.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing classroom/laboratory instruction in accordance with the FAA curriculum.
- Fulfill contractual obligations during the term.
- Conduct each class according to the approved syllabus and FAA curriculum.
- Utilize the approved textbook and/or other instructional materials as approved.
- Be fully prepared and on time.
- Utilize the LMS following college policies and procedures.
- Submit attendance confirmation per college policies and procedures.
- Maintain course grades in the LMS and submit grades at the applicable times.
- Support students by engaging them in class, answering questions in a timely manner, and referring them for additional support when necessary.
- Be familiar with and abide by college policies.
- Treat students and colleagues with respect and understanding of differences.
- Assist in development of curriculum as appropriate.
- Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in aviation, avionics, aerospace, aeronautics or closely related field and current pilot license or similar license OR Master's with at least 18 graduate hours in a combination of qualifying field and current pilot license or similar license OR Bachelor's in qualifying field and a professional pilot license and two years' in-field experience.
- Post-secondary teaching experience preferred.
- Demonstrated evidence of professional growth through participation in continuing education and other related activities.
- Proficiency with teaching technologies, including lecture-capture software, such as Camtasia or Kaltura, and familiarity with web-conferencing software to facilitate synchronous online student support.
- Experience in student engagement techniques.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Experience with UAS operations, with Agricultural experience preferred
- All degrees must be from a regionally accredited postsecondary institution.

Grant Funded: Yes through 2030
Rate of Pay: $2,031 to $2,214 per class (Based on level of degree. Pay rate listed is for a 3 hour credit course.) Rate of pay for online courses varies $25.00-$150.00 per hour.
Location: Aviation Center of Excellence-Crestview
